[RC] Waterproof blankets - sandy rovane

I do horse blanket laundry and repair.

The best blanket for your $ is International Rider
1200 Denier mid weight. They make a nice lined rain
sheet also that sells in the Spring for $50+/-. I
live at 3000 feet and it is reasonably wet and cold
here most of the winter. These go on sale at Dover
for about $ 80 each Spring. I am going on my 6th year
with a few minor repairs and my horses live in the
forest and wear them from the first cold rain until
the first warm day in the Spring. They are easy to
repair, the material stay waterproof and with a good
yearly cleaning they are just like new. Saxon is also
another lighter blanket that wears well and cleans
well. The worst blanket in my opinion for maintaining
its wearability is Wrangler. They tear easily by the
way they are constructed and the material does not
launder well and needs to be waterproofed after a few launderings.
