[RC] [RC] Rainsheets and wet horses-what not to do - ladurgin

We have used rainsheets and  waterproof turnouts for about 9 years.

I found "Landas" pretty much worthless (sorry)-  Gave mine away. :0(

I have found you need at least 1000 +denier to stay waterproof and last. I find the "Oricans" by Weatherbeeta a good deal -often on sale. I have gotten some as low as 59-69$ for  funky colors or off season specials.
If you have the bucks--- Rambos and Rhinos are very good.
And the Dover 1000 denier" Internationals" hold up well and  not to  $$
These have held up and the horses stayed dry underneath in  2-3 day constant rain in Ga.

And I have put them on wet horses in a pinch---if you stuff some hay up on their withers and along their back , it holds the blanket up enough they can dry with it on. Has  always worked ..
Or of course you can put a fleece cooler/sheet underneath, and it will wick the water off under the sheet.
