Re: [RC] Long distance riding and jeans - Nancy SturmIt might help to know why your friend wants to ride only in jeans. Our grandson, your basic Carhartts type of guy, does his training in jeans, but competes in some breeches his mom made him. He wants "nothing showing", but he knows if he's going to be in the saddle for 50 miles, the jeans are going to get pretty uncomfortable. A heavyweight friend who things poeple are taking note of her bulk, trains in sweats, but she grits her teeth and competes in tights. My girlish figure is all behind me (literally) and it was really hard for me to appear in public in tights. I wore really REALLY long shirts for a year or so. I'm to the point now that I just figure it's a problem I created myself and could solve with some self discipline. I even go into our little local counrty store in tights and half chaps. I suspect that they refer to me as the "nutty old lady in the tights", but I'm riding. They're not.
