RE: [RC] [RC] Is Beet Pulp Toxic To Horses? The Real Story - Susan E. Garlinghouse, DVMSorry, I want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly. Based on Dr. Lawrence's study, are you thinking that beet pulp can contribute to mineral deficiencies, and therefore needs to be minimized or deleted from young horse's diets? This is worth talking about, but I'm not sure you're reaching the same conclusions that Dr. Lawrence does. The Real Story Jeri, Yep, you are correct. Thanks. I found an article on the following link: http://jas.fass.org/cgi/reprint/77/12/3330.pdf I think I'll cut down my colt's beet pulp daily ration to a cup of soaked...just enough to give him his vitamins! But both my older horses get the same amount though. -Lynn -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
