Re: [RC] [RC] grass hay - RavenHow do people get their horses to eat grass hay? You may just need to give them time....I think sooner or later, they will eat it. I have 3 types of hay bales for my ponies. 100% soft grassy hay, mixture of grass/alfalfa and 85% alfalfa bales. Now you would think my ponies would think the 85% alfalfa bales are candy...but nope. They will eat it, but perfer the 100% grass bales. Go figure. Horses/Ponies are like kids....they can be picky and go through food jags. How about sneaking that alfalfa hay into the grass hay? Can you spread they hay across your paddock, you know a few handfuls here....a few there. To encourage them to move around and eat the hay? Darn kids!
