Re: [RC] 93 Octane? (was: gas mileage) - Linda Marins----- Original Message ----- From: "k s swigart" <katswig@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>) Linda said:When I bought my last truck in 2004, the Toyota Tundra required 93 octane gas.Is this for real or a typo? None of the gas stations that I go to sell 93 octane gas. The highest you can get is 91. Are there other places in the country that sell 93 octane...besides airports (if I remember correctly, the distinction of aviation fuel is that it is high octane)? Yes and No. - It is a typo in that I meant to say "requires minimum 91 octane" gas. However... - Supreme gas in Tennessee is 93 octane (currently $3.17 per gallon at the offramp nearest my house). TN also has no statewide emissions standards. My 2004 GMC 6L V8 3500 is not registerable in many other states. - I could have sworn that "91 minimum" is what the Toyota salesman told me in 2004. On the other hand, my neighbor uses 87 octane in his '03 Tundra and he says it works just fine. Maybe it was the GMC salesman who said that. I can no longer find my giant 17"x11" 2004 Tundra product brochure to verify my statement.
