I had a lovely horse once that I identified as a golden
dun. He was too dark for a buckskin, too yellow for a bay, and he had a
slight dorsal stripe. He also had amber eyes, rather than dark
ones.
Hey
- I like red bays. I've got two. And a chocolate bay. A
bay-turning-grey. Plus one weird bay - so called because he can't decide
if he's a dark bay, a tan bay or a buckskin (coat changes color with the
seasons)
Yes, that's probably a more accurate description. I was
thinking of our old Arabian gelding, and my husband's Paso Fino. Not
bright red bay, not black bay (alhtough I have one of the latter). I
like a nice, dark reddish/mahagany color bay.
Ok, them's fightin' words! <G> I adore
chestnuts...they're my favorite color of horse (along with
buckskin). Especially chestnuts with lots of chrome! Bays
are nice, I like them best if they are a nice medium red bay with some
chrome. Grays? Not a big fan...but a good horse is never a bad
color, so if I end up with a gray someday, that's fine.

Mom loves me too!)
