I forgot to add I do like the idea of distinguishing a new horse/rider. 
Maybe green vet cards and butt paint? It would be a pain but something like 
an armband for a rider would be nice then if the experienced riders see 
somebody wandering looking confused they can tell if the person is new or if 
its their natural expression!
