In addition to the AERC site, you can go to www.umecra.com and you will find our 2007 ride
schedule and all other information for the MW. The new ride schedule will
come out sometime after Jan., as we don't ride during the winter months.
We have many people willing to help you, as well as many different ride options
for you to choose from(novice rides, competitive, LD and
endurance).
I just found several MN and WI rides on the AERC website ride calendar -
in 2007. Not any yet for 2008, but you can see the rides that were
offered this year. Go to aerc.org and
click on the Ride Calendar. Then select your region, MW, and you'll find
your rides. Most of the rides also have websites, and they all have
contact info for the ride managers.
You can also set up a notification whereby you'll be sent an e-mail when
a ride in your region is posted on-line. I love it when I get the notice
that another ride is posted, I always go check it out. Whoever set up
that program deserves a big thank you.
Hopefully you can find a mentor. At the least, have some good times
with your horse. Good luck.
I
would love to be a part of a solution, or a changing trend, if
nothing else....
...when I first joined this list, I emailed the
people in my area who had put themselves on a list as available as
mentors.... and they both told me they were too busy and had no interest
in taking on newcomers. Go figure.
I cannot even find information
on Minnesota and Wisconsin rides. It's almost like, if there are any,
they are a closely held
secret.
