[RC] Mariposa riders any answers to questions? - Debbie Ekhaml

Ok, I have read most of the postings yet still have
almost none of the questions answered from my original
post. I can understand how some are
non-confrontational, but was EVERY rider on that LD
that way? It is also amazing how many people read the
same post differently. Although yelling and following
was involved, there was NOT physical violence. While
"an eye for an eye" attitude may not be appropriate,
doing nothing to this rider is not either. Attitudes
like those of Tina Jordan and Clifford Sies are what
get horses killed. There is a HUGE difference between
not recognizing your horse is dehydrated and BEATING a
horse lying on the ground from exhaustion. We have
all made mistakes if we ride long enough. This
incident was not a mistake or ignorance. I am sick of
the "liberal attitudes" like "oh, he just wasn't aware
of how far you can run a horse." COME ON! He BEAT
and SPURRED (purposeful acts) a horse TO NEAR DEATH.
How can that be written off and made excuses for? And
yes, some riders will always carry a "tude". I'll bet
Tammy Robinson will never have to feel guilty if a
rider she warned kills his or her horse later. At
LEAST she tried. There is no way to prevent possible
equine death. Stuff happens and sometimes it is out
of our hands. I know first hand having lost a horse
several years ago. But one thing we CAN ABSOLUTELY
prevent is ABUSE leading to death. Think about it,
and in the meantime, someone please answer my original
post! Thanks, Deb
