Re: [RC] Abuse - Barbara McCraryBoy, do I ever agree with that first sentence! All it takes is a couple of people who use a LD ride as a racecourse to ruin the whole concept of LD. It was originally brought into AERC as a learning experience. When BCs are awarded, that means the ride is based on time, and that suggests racing. Although I never fully learned the details of CTR in UMECRA, Louise Riedel was very keen on them as part of AERC rides. I think it could be done in AERC, without the judging of horsemanship and horse behavior incorporated into the event.Barbara ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dolores Arste" <darste3@xxxxxxxxxx> To: <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, November 07, 2007 7:06 AM Subject: RE: [RC] Abuse I've never been particularly keen on the LD due to the "race" mentality. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
