Re: [RC] Mariposa Protest filing results in EN - Barbara McCraryMy husband had this happen to his horse several years ago. The horse was not "overridden" per se, but he refused to drink on the trail and I, in MY ignorance, gave him a full dose of electrolytes on a dehydrated stomach. The horse crashed and had to be IVed with fluids. I certainly learned a lesson the hard way that day. Truth be told, the horse had been really great for several years, but as he got older, he started refusing to drink. We never knew why, but we sold him to a lady for a pleasure horse and he is alive and well being a mentor to a bunch of horse-crazy little girls.Barbara ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lauren Horn" <4horn4@xxxxxxx> To: <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, November 06, 2007 6:42 PM Subject: RE: [RC] Mariposa Protest filing results in EN Just keep in mind that an over ridden horse can happen to anyone (or maybe I should say a dehydrated horse). It happens to experienced riders and newbies. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
