RE: [RC] [RC] Wish list - Ranelle RubinAmy,Measuring is done from the middle of your horse's chest to the middle of his backside, under his tail..going around the widest part of the horse. Here is what I have for each horse: A polar fleece cooler A waterproof sheet A cotton mesh anti-sweat sheet A light weight cotton sheet This combination will get you through ANY combination of weather. I have had the polar fleece and WP sheet on in a snowstorm and my horse was dry and warm under his blanket. I also have a wool cooler I use I tend to visit tack swaps alot, so blankets and coolers are cheap there. The mesh anti-sweat sheet gets used ALOT when the weather is our moderate 50-60 degrees and my horse is sweaty from a ride. I put it on him on the ride home, and by the time we get home, he is dry and cool. I can even sponge him off with water after riding if I "towel" him off and then put this on for the way home..I hate dirty horses..:) The cotton sheet gets used alot at rides in the summer for overnight when a fleece cooler would be too much.
