Re: [RC] Chevy Silverado diesel truck owners... - Mike Lewis
My '06 Ram 3500 is the same way. If the Chevy
trucks are anything like my Dodge, the WTS light won't come on unless the temp
is cold enough.
On my old '91 F-350 on the other hand... the WTS
light loved to come on when it was even slightly cool outside...
Heheheheh. In response to your post, I'll
keep my comments on the Big 3 to myself... other than to say I'm not driving a
Ford or Chevy/GMC. :-) Enjoy your truck! The new technology,
starting with the Duramax and newer 7.3L and 5.9L engines from Ford/IH and
Dodge/Cummins, is so much better than even a few years ago.
This past weekend I because the new owner of a 2001 Silverado 3500 4x4
with 47K miles on it (NEW TOY!!). Being a Ram owner for the last 8 years
I'm unfamiliar with Silverado's and was wondering about starting the
engine. The 'Wait to Start' light does not turn on when I turn the
engine to start. With the Ram the "wait" light would turn on for a few
seconds. Dealer said this was normal for Silverado diesel engines
because they are SO much more superior to Fords and Dodges. :P
Do
I need to bring the truck in to check out why the light doesn't turn
on?
