Re: [RC] [RC] Coggins - customary? - Truman PrevattThat's about what we pay plus farm visit. We do all or ours at the same time. You technically can't move your horse off your property without a Coggins in FL. That also means riding them. If you ride on public land you are required to carry it with you and you will be checks. I've been several times. If you trailer a horse in FL it needs an active Coggins and if it doesn't have one and you are checked - it will not be a very positive experience. While I haven't been stopped on the road in FL to have paperwork checked - I have been stopped in GA (twice) and KY. I've also been at activities in FL and KY where Ag law enforcement showed up to check Coggins. In some parts of the world it is taken very seriously. Truman Peery, Sandra wrote: We pay close to that. 16 or 18 dollars. What we do though is get the vet to come down and then several of our neighbors and friends bring there horses over also. Much cheaper because you get to split the farm fee and sometimes you get a discount if you have so many horses. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
