Re: [RC] question re: appropriate breed of horse for newbie with various interests - Barbara McCraryOur son-in-law rides an Andalusian-Arab-TB cross gelding they bred and raised for endurance. He finished his first 50 in August. I don't offhand remember what our S-I-L thought of the horse's performance, but all I know is you have to enjoy riding a skyscraper. The horse is 1/2 Andalusian, 3/8 Arab, 1/8 TB and stands nearly 17 hands tall. I prefer about 14.2 myself...much easier to get on and closer to the ground in case of a sudden disconnect.Barbara ----- Original Message ----- From: "Quentin & Libby Llop" <qhll@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "Jackie Causgrove" <fairhairwolf@xxxxxxxxx> Cc: <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, October 18, 2007 8:41 AM Subject: Re: [RC] question re: appropriate breed of horse for newbie with various interests I'm coming to this discussion late and may have missed something, but I =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
