[RC] 800 - Sharon Saare

Looks like I need to do a PS to previous Post.  After Big Horn went out
of business, I was looking for a Plan B and did, very briefly become
involved with RR....this in the mid 1970's.  However, it was a short and
stormy marriage.    There were mistakes on those saddles that I asked 
Jim Watkins  to correct....but he was more interested in doing it fast
than right....and those who are familiar with my equipment know that is
not my  MO.
There never has been an 800 tree....800 was my design number on the
original Big Horn Saddles.  Just about every Tom, Dick and Harry that
copied them used that number to try to hitch a ride on my back.  
I did a brief stint with American Saddlery, but Jack Hughes never  paid
the royalties he agreed to....guess he needed the money more than I did.
After that I went totally custom with smaller, more ethical and higher
class producers.  I have had 6 contract saddle companies producing my
equipment since 1982.  I have done the design work, but let the saddle
makers do the saddle making.  It has worked well.....some clients who
bought saddles from me 20 years ago are buying again because they are
accustomed to our quality and our fitting procedure which is just about
foolproof.  We have saddles in about 20 Countries now.  Fun!
