I'm still waiting for the first ride announcement here on Ridecamp

where the charity that will benefit is the Backcountry Horsemen of
America's Legal Fund.Or your local trail system's
maintenance fund.  Or anything that actually has to do with

keeping the trail you rely on open to you.


When our Arabian Horse Club put on Longstreet's Charge we always made a 
donation to the Crockford-Pigeon Mtn. WMA where it was held. Our ranger said 
not to make a $$ donation since it would disappear into a general fund. Instead 
we bought gifts that he designated, like appropriately durable trail markers, 
etc. which he installed. Hopefully we'll clear enough this spring to do the 
same. I'm betting lots of rides do that they just don't publicize it.
