Re: [RC] Lifetime memberships - Rebecca FabiszakI paid $50 for my daughter to have a membership in AQHA until she is 18. When she turns 18, AQHA applies the $50 I have already given them to the $400 it will cost to get Anna her lifetime membership. I think AHA should remove their heads from their collective (fill-in-the blank) Beccy

(These could even be paid over time on a credit card). If only 500 members (about 8%) of the membership took advantage of this, it would raise $500,000 that could be invested in a stable financial vehicle which would, itself, return a renewable $25-40,000 a year to AERC. These monies could fund needed research and other worthy projects. Meanwhile, the other growing 92% of the membership would continue to pay their annual dues, and hopefully AERC's general budget wouldn't suffer from the loss of the annual dues of the 8% permanent members. I'm not an accountant, though. Does this make any sense? Dr Q =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
