Re: [RC] Trotting Styles of Horses - Laney HumphreyI've always looked for efficient movement assuming that efficiency means less wasted energy. The up and down "sewing machine" type of trot seems to me to be more suited to the show ring because there is so much up and down but not so much forward motion. I used to think the "daisy clipper" types movement - very little knee action - was best, but I've decided those horses often are trippers. Now I look for just enough knee action to make sure the hooves land square but not enough to waste energy.laney Val Nicoson wrote: I'm looking for my next endurance horse and have come upon the option of different trotting styles of horses. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
