Although I don't use the original, I made one that works
on the same "crossunder" principle. My horses love it. I switched one from a
bosal and another from a snaffle and they both are more responsive and calm. I
like that it has the same rein action as a bitted bridle. The bosal works
on a loose rein, which is great most of the time, but I like to have options.
Mine is made of double braid rope (like a rope halter), but I intend to do a
leather version too. I make most of my own tack. That way I get exactly what I
want.
