Re: [RC] [R - Nancy SturmI'm very sorry to read of the loss of your horse. Since we've owned horses since 1963, we have had a few deaths. We had one mare buried here on the farm by a friend with a backhoe - if it's illegal in Oregon, I didn't know. We took a pony to a wild animal rescue place. I think they require no drugs (or no drugs of a certain class) for 30 days prior to death. And, in the olden days when the rendering folks came out for free, we had the tallow company pick one up. There is no longer a rendering company in Southern Oregon. It's hard enough to lose a horse, but they're so big that tending to them becomes part of the problem.
