Re: [RC] Easyboot and Epic Tips, Using Easyfoam - Kathy Klenk

Can anyone tell me what next?

I've measured Ramseys feet. His front have shoes on and his back do not and they were just trimmed Friday. As an aside the front shoes are wider then his foot is trimmed on the front due to the farrier not hearing the first time that I wanted shoes he trimmed them more narrow I guess then he would have had he known he was going to be putting shoes on.
This is a new farrier to me but he has a better reputation then the previous so I'm just doing the best I can and trying to learn as much as I can.
I have checked the size charts for Old Macs, Easy Boots and Boa and none of them have the rear size I seem to need. I believe I measured correctly. He was standing perfectly still, not jiggling and I only measured to the bulb, not the end of the hoof on the rear.

It is his rear feet I'm most concerned about.
                     Width Length
Front (both) 115 x 120 mm
Rear (both) 105 x 120 mm

Does this mean
a- His feet are trimmed incorrectly
b- He can't wear 'boots'
c- I need to just wait and trim wait and trim until his rear feet become a bit wider?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I organized some of the posts in my blog that deal with Easyboots and Epics so that anybody needing to find help on using either of those boots can go to this one place and find a lot of information. There are tips with photos and some video in addition to written material. The second link goes to a section on using Easyfoam, which is not yet complete but well on it's way. These are all things that I do personally with my own boots to have them work for my endurance horses. Hope it helps somebody.
