RE: [RC] [RC] what to feed during a ride - Ranelle RubinCindy,Here is what I feed my horse at a ride to get him to eat more hay, and less concentrates. I put his mash which consists of Dynamite Pelleted Grain Ration-I can get you the details on it if you like, beet pulp, and about a cup of LMF-Performance in a bucket with ALOT of water. I then take the hay and push it down into the water. What happens is the hay tastes like his mash, so he eats it, and then by the time he gets down to his beetpulp, mash, it has soaked up alot more water. The PGR will triple in size, so it soaks up a bunch of water too. I also mix in a small amt of DynaSpark which is the Elyte by Dynamite that uses molasses as the base, so they love it. By the way, the PGR also has Dynamite Plus and High Energy Supplement mixed in. My horse gets about a cup a day for a regular ration, I double that on a work day, and he gets more of course on an actualy ride day. PGR is very concentrated, so 3c is equal to a pound of grain. That is why I only feed one cup on a non working day.
