You should be "on your toes at all times and be looking down the trail
farther than the horse" whether you are on "a horse like that" or not.

Not only does this enable you to anticipate what might spook your horse,
but it also ensures that, among other things, you don't run over
pedestrians, you can more properly time your aids, and it puts your head
where its weight can best balance your horse.

Maybe everybody should have a horse like that so that they can more
quickly learn to look where they are going.
