It must be a very difficult language to the
non-native. I made up a little poem about the English language: "If
the plural of mouse is mice, why isn't the plural of house - hice? If the
plural of goose is geese, why isn't the plural of moose - meese?" And then
there are the numerous pronunciations of words containing the letters
"ough." I don't blame you, Leonard, for calling English barbarian.
It's just that we learned it from babyhood.
Having had introductions through travel to other
countries...China, Japan, Mongolia...one learns that a mere different inflection
of the same word can mean embarrassing differences.
I personally am glad that we are all different, speak
different languages, and have different customs. It may be confusing, but
imagine how dull the world would be without the differences. Vive le
difference (or however it is spelled in French.)

Linda...you can
populate the "salon."
I'm with
Leonard....the saloon for me. Preferably with a lot of
Guinness.
