Re: [RC] starting horses late - Nancy SturmI bought a big old quarter horse from as horse dealer once. At four years old , he wasn't really halter broke, was horrific for the farrier and wouldn't stand tied. Riding him, however, went really REALLY well. I rode him six miles up a country road about the second time I got on him. There was some irregularity with his registration papers. When I contacted the former owner, I found out the horse had had 30 days with a cutting horse trainer who sent him home, commenting that he was retarded. I wasn't quite the horse whisperer I thought I was. Scotty did turn into a good useful horse and eventually was sold to a team roper.
