RE: [RC] [RC] Slide in Pick-up Camper - Ranelle RubinShannon,I can tell you from experience to get the smallest camper you can, and avoid the hitch extension if at all possible. One option if you are worried about the wind while driving is a pop-up. They are pretty small, and hard to find with a bathroom though. I have an F250 and have an 11'3" Lance which worked *OK* when I had a small 2h straight load trailer. When I bought my new larger 2H slant, it is way overloaded with the 4' hitch extension. I have used it once since then and am looking for a smaller camper now. I would not go any longer than 9' or 9'6" if I were you. Also, if you do go with the hitch extension, be sure to add stabilizer bars and maybe even a stabilizer hitch.
