[RC] Australian endurance rider seeking 5 months experience in USA - Jay Randle

Hi All

One of my young riders, Beck Forgan, is looking to spend some time in the US from mid-January to mid-June 2008. Beck is 22 years old, and has just completed an undergraduate degree in Nursing. She has been awarded a scholarship to do her Masters Degree next year, however would like to spend some time persuing her interest in endurance riding prior to starting her Masters in July.

Beck has been riding since she was a kid, being involved in Pony Club and showing (English style) most of her life. She started riding for me late last year, and this year has completed her Open Endurance Rider qualification here in Queensland. This means that she has successfully completed 2 x 40km (25mile) training rides, and 3 x 80km (50mile) endurance rides.

Beck is looking for somewhere where she can be involved in the training of endurance horses, and would love to be able to ride in sanctioned rides if at all possible. She has a good work ethic, and is a very good rider. Beck is also able to put some 'flatwork' on young horses, and has a solid grounding in the basics of bringing a young endurance horse along slowly and carefully.

She would need a situation that includes room and board, and a wage if available. In return, you would be gaining a hard-working young lady who would be very keen to learn and progress her knowledge of the sport.
