RE: [RC] Rider's uneven seat bones - Karen StandeferChiropractic and physical therapy (including massage therapy) helped me to balance my lower body. I had the same problem. Stretching psoas muscles, piriformis muscles and strengthening the abdomen and hip flexors really, really helped. Of course, my horse having the same problem I have (partially due to hoof conformation and partially due to an injury), it makes it a real challenge for us. But we're better this year than last :-) It's an ongoing maintenance issue just like the imbalances in the horse. Find what works for you and your horse and then just keep working on it. BTW, I first went to a top notch Sports Medicine Dr. (Dr. Carolyn Marquardt in Bellevue, WA) for a diagnosis of what was actually out of balance. Then she wrote prescriptions to the support therapists for their individual therapies. If I put my hands under my seat bones sitting on a chair I feel more weight and bone mass on the right. I currently ride a BM saddle and have been working with Tom at Skito trying different pads to try and figure this out. I ride as balanced as I possibly can but wonder if anyone has had the same problem and how they solved it. Barbara No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
