Just a note. Tom Sites called me yesterday from Prince Edwards Island  
CA. Told me 1) That Curt Lewis had been at the Santa Fe ride and that  
all was going well - glowing report even:) Larry Lewis was headed  
there today and may be talked into reporting - go for it.

Tom also mentioned 2) the new trail which PEI has created that  
circumvents the island! @300km - a nice multiday??!! - in the future  
CA is building a trail that will cross the contenent! - Tom (and a  
few others:) are also headed to southern VA to check out trail for a  
new VA ride!! it grows.

Also, along those same notes, we received info from  
www.horsehighway.org.au which I'll be putting up on the net soon.  
basicall 7000km (*4700 miles!!) of trail that runs halfway around the  
AU contenent - billed as the greatest horse trail network in the  
world (or "the greatest endurance ride network in the world!!":) it  
will take 12 years to complete and cost AU$150M!! more on that later --

but my point - endurance is growing here, canada, au ... all over the  
world. I've noticed in putting together the .kmz files that lots of  
european rides are on 2-track and roads - that's what's available!  
most of the US avoids that (for now!) -
