Re: [RC] [RC] Arabs off Track - Jill CohnAlso, some theorize that the muscular imbalance can be caused by constant use of one particular lead (usually left) at the canter, which might also explain the lopsidedness of horses off the track. Some theorize that they're necks are too short and their legs are too long so they "split" their legs when grazing and habitually use one leg in front than the other. High/Low heels, one stifle with upward fixation of the patella. Anyway, it is manageable and we were able to do some endurance despite this. Beau, however, has a lot of Polish and Russian in his breeding, as are a lot of race horses. It may be more genetics than the racing? I also wonder if it could be the fact that he was raised on 100% alfalfa cubes plus rolled barley... I'm looking at a horse who has even feet, (high heel/low heel syndrome is commonly associated with one larger shoulder) but his left shoulder bulges out more then his right. Is this common for track horses or a symptom of something else that causes the asymmetry?
