I breed standard poodles & ride with my champion, Rogue, often! Yesterday's ride was a perfect example of his suitability as a horse dog. Three of us rode off of the property bring a 3 year old green horse on his first trail ride. I brought Rogue along to teach him tolerance of dogs. At first the young horse tried to chase him & keep him away. Rogue quietly avoided him but stayed near. Very soon the horse was completely good with him. Later in the ride we came upon a woman walking her 3 dogs. Pitbull on a leash & two chihuahuas loose & barking! They ran up to the horses chattering away. Rogue watched, knowing we could handle the situation. The woman got control of the chihuahuas & we rode on, Rogue passed, not even looking at them. He has always handled every situation that comes up with a cool calmness. I do feel they are the ideal horse & home dog! Non shedding & hypo allergenic, too! I have puppies available now!
