Re: [RC] [RC] Horse with attitude...Emergency Dismount - Mary Ann Spencer

Yup, I too have heard a horse burp......... but get real.  If someone is that afraid they need more than some dressage lessons.  ALSO, as in everything else in life, not ALL of these fancy dressage instructors are worth it!!!  After my last experience, seems they take so much fun out of it all.   I have personally found  that bucking uphill is not near as bad as bucking on the flat....I am off on the 3 buck........ but the one rein stop really helps.  Wish I had known that 20 yrs ago.

Okay when Jessica wrote about her "emergency-dismount, and aim-to-roll." I just had to laugh!  I will do "emergency-dismounts" too when I need to get off before the situation gets worse...like bucking up a hill!

My dressage instructor refuses to teach the emergency dismount.  She says too many people do it when they should have stayed with the horse and rode it out.  They get to the point that if the horse even burps they do an emergency dismount.  Don't laugh, I've heard a horse burp!  jeri
