I wish we had a crystal ball so we could see into the future.
I desperately hope that the over production of horses stops.
I hope that horses ARE a "semi-luxury" item that folk think carefully about
before taking one on.
I hope that "responsibility" for the care of animals is universally
expected of all who have the power to neglect or abuse, and if not, then the
"responsibility" to turn them in to authorities is embraced by neighbors and
even passers-by and the "responsibility" to convict the neglectful individuals
is welcomed by authorities.
I hope that "users" of horses will truly acknowledge the differences among
the species between cattle, pigs, horses, etc., and treat all with dignity and
respect deserving of any living creature.
I hope..........
I do know this: It is up to horse people to decide what the future
will actually "look like". Will we step up and do the right
thing?
