I thought I found a keeper yesterday. I really liked the idea of treeless so I got some of those. BMSS, very comfy and I liked it a lot: Too long, sores loin. (Not apparent on a test ride. Problem did not show up until I logged two weeks of riding in this saddle.) Torsion: I loved it. Horse's back, not feeling the love. Loin issues of BMSS, moved forward three inches. This one made it a week and a half. Forty dollar craptastic no-name English saddle, all slippery and flat: I hate the dratted thing. Horse's back is happiest it's been all summer, immune to my pointy fingers. Horse moves better, extends better, appears more generally happy. Wet spots on back are all even and uniform. In saddle selection, my horse outvotes me. It's been three weeks (ninety miles) since I started with the craptastic English saddle. So far, so good. Keep your fingers crossed...
