Re: [RC] NC..ho hum... - Joe LongFirst of all, a great big CONGRATULATIONS and Thank You to the Teeters for what was clearly a wonderful ride, a first-class event. It took a lot of work.Steph Teeter wrote: I personally feel that the only way our NC will be taken seriously is to have an overall 'race' - first across the line is the winner. The weight division champs can stay, as divisions, but the excitement is with the pace setters. And it really was a race here. John Crandell and Cheryl Dell were head to head all day. ... Here I fully agree. Even though the results were only posted yesterday, the only winners I remember are John and Heraldic, for their impressive overall win, and Cheryl and Reason to Believe for earning Best Condition. I'm happy to see that they both fought hard for the overall win, despite being well ahead of the other riders in their respective divisions. Even though the AERC doesn't recognize it, it's still well worth working for, for the pride in the achievement. My own interest in riding the NC is diminished by the fact that it is officially only a divisional competition, not actually crowning an AERC National Champion. Yes, yes, I know ... we have "Ten National Champions." It's not the same thing. Here's hoping that we can someday soon have a single AERC National Champion once again.
