I have worked with my young horse ( 18 month old ) ..since he was born. He loads in the trailer , bathes , gets his feet done , stands tied, he respects your space......and lots more... He is a joy to be around. I recently took him to a trainer ( she works on despooking horses, and problem fixing. ) well i didn't have a problem with him at all but .... ...I just wanted to see how he would react with her..and all the stuff she " threw " at him...like Silly string. loud noises from a stock whip, plastic bags all over his body...and lots of other stuff... It was soo funny ...i payed her to "work " with him for two hours...and she had to WORK...lol he was not afraid of any of her stuff... and she said to me she has never been around a more well behaved 1.5 year old . :-) What a compriment . :-) I was soo proud of him Diana :-) From: "sherman" <sherman@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [RC] Parelli competitions - manners competitions for young horses at shows? I do! And when I finally got on the little mustang/Arab filly she did not want to spend any time doing circles, she headed towards the road and made it perfectly clear that she wanted to go down the trail. So we did, after about only 5 confined rides. She was very, very responsive to the bit, would stop immediately on verbal command, and had never bucked either, so I felt it was safe. Yep, she's trailered nicely since a weanling, too. _________________________________________________________________ A new home for Mom, no cleanup required.
