Re: [RC] Shoes - Padded or none padded - rides2farI would think it would vary greatly across the country. I hate pads when it rains on red clay...or riding on grass, they have the horse slipping every which way. For that reason, when I've really thought I needed pads (which is very seldom) I usually just stuck a pair of easyboots on over the shoes. I have only padded a handful of times ever...but I'm in the Southeast. For the past few years I have been using pads with packing though after having my sponsors horse get sand packed in the pad, we considered making a dime size hole in the pad and just flushing the foot out.??I know a few people who just use a regular shoe without a pad. What do you consider the best way to shoe any endurance horse?
