Re: [RC] [RC] [RC] Right and Left Brain (Parelli thread) - Kathy MayedaYeah, it's tough to have J&H horses. The biggest thing is that I have to check in with my own J&H stuff to see where MY buttons are being pushed. I had to learn to be extremely centered and non-reactive emotionally when he's going through all his histrionics - just be calm and try and get his attention back on me. Not an easy task.Especially since my J&H horse is my biggest horse, and the most powerful. I could "muscle" my mare a little bit and get results, but if I "muscle" this guy it feels like I'm sitting on a powderkeg waiting to blow up. Actually we could just be riding on the trail in a controlled trail ride and he would sometimes feel like a powderkeg waiting to blow up. It's getting better though because of the Parelli work. I have to resort to singing stupid songs in my head to keep me from freaking out.... but I do stay on my horse and work through it. K. I grew up with Arabs, I have a Morgan and Morgan/MFT cross, as well as a Mule and MFT... The Morgan and Cross are so J & H... so yes, I Have two of them... the Cross is 3, she is my WORST ONE, she is young... my friend, has a Paso Fino, he can be a J & H too... I had a QH here once, who was a J & H... so, I think I can safely say that YES, I have had many J & H horses... =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
