I try to rescue animals. Keep them here well fed, and cared for. Now we are moving and no one wants the critters. Horses, Arabs- reg. with goood blood lines. no takers. If you genuinely cannot care for your horses, and cannot find them good homes, wouldn't it be more humane to euthanize them - rather than to send them to an auction, where they will most likely end up enduring a long ride to the slaughterhouse? "Hoping" they won't go to the killer's is unrealistic. Most do. I don't think anyone with sense is saying horses do not need to be put down, at times. The slaughterhouses do serve a function. But it's more responsible, and humane, to put the horse down yourself rather than send it on the type of transport situations that are currently in use. ~S =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
