And can afford new tack...then they sure as heck as afford to humanely euthanaize a horse, pay for a backhoe or call a rendering truck. The passion one may feel to keep all horses from a particular fate must be balanced by the ability of their human caretakers to provide for their wellbeing. While *you* may be able to afford the costs of supporting a horse into its old age and then burying it on your back 40 or euthanizing and hauling it away, many can't.
