[RC] no hands bridge - mrsdMy wife and I were pre-riding the last part of the Tevis as a training ride one week before our first try in 1970...As we were riding out of Robie Point we met a really interesting pair of riders...It was Diane Clagget (Marquand) and Smoky Killen. He was on this big horse with a Silver Saddle that looked as though it weighed 200# and the five year old mare I was on almost did a back - flip. , We then met a nice man by the name of Paige Harper. He said that if we wished he would show us the trail over the BRIDGE..... He said that his most interesting trip had involved a young horse and meeting a young boy with a truck tube at the halfway point. Horse ran backwards and had a back foot off the side of the bridge when Paige hopped off.
