That does not necessarily follow. While the Indian diet is mostly veterinarian - they do eat meat. However, the cow is sacred in the Hindu religion.

The issue of horse slaughter is not an issue of absolute it is tied up in the ethics of the culture and individuals involved. There are many in the US that feel that the US should not support the production of food from horses shipped from this country and they petition their Government to make that the law of the land. That's their right of course and I see no hypocrisy if the belief is founded on their own ethical standards.

If horse slaughter for food should be is not cut and dry or black and while and as long as we have a multitude of opinions on that issue - there will most likely never be agreement.
