[RC] Nosebleed - Judi DalyI experienced a nosebleed with my Paint one summer that sounded much like yours. I talked to my vet, and she said to wait until spring, and if it came back, she recommended a vet with a scope. She said that the racehorses that are bleeders have blood coming out in gushes--not a few tablespoons like Mingo was experiencing. It went away, but I also switched him back to his sidepull hackamore. I had susupected that he had an allergy to metal--his lips would get puffy and look funny. He was fine on a short ride, but it got really bad on the long rides, and that is when his nose would bleed. This summer, when his sidepull broke, I bought him a synthetic bit and use it with bit guards. His lips aren't getting puffy, and no more nosebleeds.
