FIFTH day of Shore to Shore...15 miles short of completing all 5
days. This was Romeo's 6th 50 miler (Days 1-4 of Shore to Shore being his
2nd-5th). My heart was in my mouth the WHOLE day, WAITING for the "Rock
with my name on it." Suddenly, Romeo is OFF, like REALLY off...His back
end has the WEIRDEST motion I have EVER ridden. I yelled to my riding
buddy "Bill, Romeo's LAME-STOP!"
Bill looks back and politely replies "See if he gaits better when the
sponge isn't wrapped around his balls." (Riding a relaxed stallion has
it's own issues, you see).
Anyway, long story short, picked up sponge, Romeo continued on fine to his
completion....
Ummm...Angie? Care to make a video?
<G> I can just see it now - we all start trying to get someone to
film us, and that's the time when we smack ourselves in the face with the
sponge, wrap the sponge leash around three of our horse's legs in a perfect
imitation of calf-tying, whack our geldings in the sheath, or snag
a large branch and drag it after our panicking horse! LOL
