[RC] Arkansas sale barn - Lynn WhiteThis really made me sad when I read it. It just makes me feel all empty inside to know so many nice well bred horses are going to end up at the killers. I think it's pretty much the same everywhere in the US. When people start getting low on funds, the first things to go are the hobbies and luxury items (i.e., horses). As much as I hate to know that these horses will end up as dog food, at least they won't end up neglected, abused and starved. This is a good lesson for anyone who wants to breed their grade mare with questionable conformation to that neigbor's stallion with the small feet and short pastern. When experienced and reputable breeders can't get rid of their horses, it's time to spay and geld. If you really want a colt to start, get a "store-bought" weanling from a good breeder. Endurance horses are so fortunate to have owners that love them and provide them with a job to do. Now go give yours a big hug and take them out on the trail. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Looking for a deal?
