[RC] [RC] Molasses/sugar over concern - Patti

Average sugar (as water soluble carbohydrates) in 278 beet pulp samples on Dairy One's data base is 10.242% (46.5g or approx 1.6oz sugar per pound of beet pulp)
Range - low 2.858% (12.9g/lb), high 17.625% (79.9g/lb).
Most "no molasses added" (not shown as a labeled ingredient) beet pulp I've had tested ran between 8 and 10% sugar (as WSC).
 
An apple, according to NutritionData.com, contains 3g of sugar per ounce (or 24g for an 8 ounce apple).
