Re: [RC] 101degrees -old horse - rides2far@xxxxxxxxHe is on 24 turnout and has to navigate a slope to get to the water Laurie, I'd worry less about the electrolytes and make it easier for him to get to water. Just put a garbage can at the top of the hill and run it full of water. Make sure he's got shade in a place that's not too stuffy. I see people put a horse in a low roofed closed up barn with a fan and it's a blast furnace. Under a tree is better than a really stuffy barn. I've moved my fans out of the peek of the barn and over to the low side near the woods since I found that I was pulling the hottest air back down on them with it in the peek. For those of you everywhere else...this is the *real deal*. It gets no worse than it's been this week around here. My school's principal took us all out to eat at a restaurant and I went out to my car to get my jacket. The other teachers couldn't believe I was cold. I told them I don't know how they can work outside after sitting in houses that are 72 degrees. They just said, "We don't go outside!" A 19 year old runner dropped dead at a road race here in town Saturday. It's all the talk. Autopsy is pending. He gets MSN daily There's your problem. He's spending too much time on the internet!;-) Angie =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
