[RC] Shipping Boots - Carolyn Burgess

I don't use shipping boots, I use either pillow wraps, quilt wraps or no bow bandages with stable bandages to secure them.  Shipping boots will protect from bumps and scraps, but they provide no support to the legs what so ever.  What I use is cheap too.  I just bought pillow wraps from EBAY from Equiteric for $2.99/set of two and the stable bandages were $2.99 as well.  I got them in lots of colors (burgundy/black/orange/gold/navy).  They just arrived today.  So you can do a horse for about $9 + shipping versus $100,$200+ for good shipping boots, and I think the bandages/wraps are the better way to go.

Hi,

I was just wondering what you use to protect your horses legs when you transport them?  Most people I see use pillow wraps with track bandages wrapped around them.  I'm interested in buying shipping boots.  Can you recommend a certain brand?  If you know of any articles on shipping boots and protection while in the trailer, I'd love to read it.  I also put 'horse helmets' on my horses.

Thank you!!
